Guess Girl (See Jane Channel)

Guess shirt (c/o), Zara skirt + heels, Forever21 sunglasses, Mulberry bag
The quintessential Guess Girl has always been someone who is comfortable in their own skin and exudes a natural sexiness.   I, on the other hand, would never consider myself to embody the characteristics of the sexy pinup gal like many Guess Girl alums such as Claudia Schiffer and various Marilyn Monroe lookalikes.  My version of sexiness is showing a sliver of skin while still being somewhat covered up; I'm channeling the Guess Girl of the new millennium while being myself at the same time.  A Guess Girl can come in all different forms but at her core, she's witty, fun and knows who she is!

Be sure to check out the other bloggers who are also channeling a modern-day Guess Girl!

Gidget (See Jane Wear)

Cheap Monday chambray shirt, DV by Dolce Vita shorts (c/o--romper version here), Zara sandals,
Super sunglasses, Mulberry bag
I was so into these shorts this past weekend that I wore them two days in a row (but with different tops).  I love shorts season so I suppose that I couldn't help myself; the fun polka dots and skort-like silhouette just resonated with me.  I also think I'll be living in sleeveless button-downs this summer--they add some structure to an otherwise casual season.

Clean Out (See Jane Find...and Wear)

H&M skirt (old but similar here) + oxford, Banana Republic vest (old), Chloe bag (new color/style here), Zara flats, Super sunglasses
I've been trying to clean out my closet for months and it's definitely been a work in progress.  When I find old gems like this skirt (worn here) it makes me realize there's a lot more where that came from.  I'll continue to work on this tedious project all summer but sometimes it's fun to go back to things I thought I'd never live without and realize I've forgotten about it for the past two years--like this striped, mini skirt.

Have a great weekend!

Artichoke + Pesto Pizza (See Jane Cook)

Pizza is easily one of my favorite foods that I don't make nearly enough.  When you buy pre-made dough (from Trader Joe's, for example), it's so easy to create your own!  I had an abundance of basil, so made my own pesto to top the pizza and added some favorite ingredients: marinated artichokes, red onion and fresh mozzarella.  Bon appétit!

(*disclaimer:  I find the best way to bake these pre-made pizza dough is at 450 degrees on a pizza stone for 8 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 and transfer to a baking sheet for another 5 minutes...but that may just be my oven)

Leather x Two (See Jane Wear)

H&M dress (last worn here), Zara jacket, Express wedges, Karen Walker sunglasses
This dress and jacket may appear to be opposites but they have one common detail: leather.  This angelic dress with its snow-white color and delicate pleats has cool leather details--the perfect juxtaposition!  I doubled up on leather for this warm, spring day and oddly enough, felt pretty cool.

Have a great week, everyone!

Well-Suited (See Jane Wear)

Forever 21 top, Zara jacket, Madewell skirt, Ann Taylor flats, Karen Walker sunglasses
Will I ever tire of this leather skirt?  Doubtful--it's great for so many occasions (like here and here).  I bought it on a whim while sitting on the couch over Thanksgiving weekend (Black Friday sale!) and have probably worn it more than some other seemingly more versatile skirts that are hanging in my closet.  On that same note, I probably won't tire of these flats either--I always grab for them.

Stormy Weather (See Jane Wear)

Hunter wellies, Mulberry bag, J Crew shorts, Zara sweater, H&M anorak, Karen Walker sunglasses
The only semi-good thing about rain during the milder months is that you can wear bare legs.  Otherwise, I much prefer rain-free days; it is almost summer after all.  Anyone else with me?
